Welcome to Bunnydog, we just thought we’d fill you in on what we are all about.
Bunnydog is a website dedicated to finding bargains and low cost products for weddings and pets (random, yes I know!). There is also a section called “Pocket Money” in development stages about earning small amounts of money on the Internet as well as general money saving tips.
So I guess you would like to know about why Bunnydog was set up. Well, for starters my name is Becky. Basically the last few years I have been interested in making money on the Internet, just for the extra few pounds a month really (for things like clothes, DVDs, CD's, etc). I have been doing paid surveys for several years and then the last couple of years I have dabbled in paid to read emails, search, paid to scan shopping, write articles etc. I have always said if I had the knowledge, confidence, time etc I would love to have my own website, not just for getting a few pounds in but also something interesting to do (I don't work because of health issues, so get very bored). Well just less than a year ago now, my husband (Lewis) left his job (won't go into details but wasn’t happy etc) to start his own business from home helping people with computers. He obviously spends a lot of time at home with me, so we decided to make a website together with him doing the technical stuff.
It was very easy to come up with what the website would be about. We got married last year, with a budget of £6000, and we kept within budget really easily. We must have done something right because we have had so many people, guests and random people coming up to us, to say that our wedding was one of the best, if not the best they have been to or heard about. Both Lewis and I worked very hard on planning our wedding but we both really enjoyed it. I get quite sad when I hear of people getting stressed planning their wedding, after all it is supposed to be for a happy occasion. So anyway we decided that we know a little bit about weddings due to all our research for our own wedding looking up the cheapest products and money saving tips. So that's why we have a weddings section.
We are both huge animals lovers and wanted to do a pets website at some stage too. But then for one reason or another (can't quite remember) , we decided we could have a pets section. So at the moment we have a Dog Section, Bunny Section and a Pets Directory (links to online pet shops and other pet related websites which are useful or have low costing pet products) all within the pet section. There are price comparisons for lots of products (so you find the cheapest place) as well as a few tips to keep costs down on pet ownership without affecting your pet. There are also some articles on related topics which you can read through... A pet insurance page is also in the process of being made.
Yeah, so two very random sections for the website. But because we have always been cheap skates it made sense to add another section to the mix about general money saving tips and also a bit about earning money online (which although not an expert, I have done). There is a few articles up in the section now about various methods of making money online (and offline) like surveys, paid emails, mystery shopping, selling on eBay etc
So for the ultimate question... why on earth is the website called Bunnydog? Not entirely sure, I think when it was suggested it was as a joke then it accidentally stuck. It's a name you get used to. I think it was originally suggested because I wanted a dog related name (I really am dog mad) but we didn't want anything too cheesy. I think Bunny came into the mix because Lewis is really weird and has a thing for rabbits (like you are not allowed to say the R word in front of him, he comes from a place where rabbits are considered bad luck), so you have to use the word bunny all the time instead of the R word. Also, I think at some point we thought it would be cool to have a character for the website (mainly cos we are shy and can hide behind it) and so somehow Bunnydog was suggested.
Right well thank you for reading, sorry it was a bit long and boring.
